Program
Community Youth Development (CYD)
Overview
The program supports youth by fostering safe spaces, positive relationships, and structured opportunities to build developmental assets and skills. This support leads to strengthened connection, engagement, and contribution to their community. CYD uses a Positive Youth Development approach to assist communities in alleviating conditions in the family and community that lead to juvenile crime. This approach also builds skills, attributes, and developmental assets that are needed to prepare young people to grow into thriving adults. The program consists of a Youth Advisory Council, a youth leadership curriculum, mentoring, and a post-high school readiness curriculum.
Eligibility

This group is my community because when I come here, I meet new people and I get to learn new things. If I didn’t come here, I wouldn’t learn or know other people. I like it here.
